Ingots: My First Desage Creation

I remember the first time I ever had a Desage creation. I was attending a series of long boring professional seminars in Las Vegas. I had a three hour window between seminars so I decided to sneak off and do a little shopping.

I came across these intriguing looking chocolates in Neiman Marcus. They were packed in velvet boxes with decorative gold ribbons. I thought it was cosmetics or hair and beauty products, I didn't even realize that they were chocolates. When I asked the sales people they told me that they were called gold ingots and they were made by Ramon Desage, CEO and Founder of Cadeau Express, who was famous in Las Vegas.

The price was reasonable and the packaging was just too delicious to pass up. I purchased a box and took them along with me to the seminar. I passed the time at the seminar opening the chocolate. Inside the box was a gold stamped logo for Desage chocolate and several rows of what looked like "gold bars".

Each individual chocolate had the Desage name and lettering that said '100 g fine gold'. The presentation of the chocolate was excellent, the taste was delicious and I was even more pleased to learn that there was hazelnut inside. This is something like a simple diversion you can take while waiting for a meeting or so. Next time I go to Vegas I am definitely getting another Desage diversion creation!
